This trip can be bumpy, so if guests have any health issues, please advise your hosts.Look out for sheep, goats, horses and wildlife as we wind our way to the top of the mountain.Once there, relax and unwind. Enjoy cooking in the equipped kitchen or if preferred, you can request through prior arrangement a catered stay.

Meet your hosts

Beresford Heights was established by Warren and Stephanie Burgess, third generation farmers of this 1,330 hectare property. The working farm has a heavy focus on Stud Simmental cattle: Beresford Simmentals.

The idea of creating this unique haven and sharing the tranquil landscape with world travellers has been a joint family project for the Burgess family.

Warren and Stephanie are both excited to meet different people from all over the world and welcome them to their piece of paradise.

Beresford Farms Environment  & Sustainability Vision

Beresford Farms is 1330ha with 250ha remaining in native bush. We are very passionate about the welfare of our livestock, providing them with fresh pastures, quality drinking water, and adequate shelter. Our farm provides habitats that support biodiversity and protection for our native species.

We are working on reducing carbon emissions, moving towards a carbon neutral sheep and beef farm by 2050 or sooner. We are continually working with meat and  fertiliser companies to establish ways to offset our carbon footprint and utilise and protect our extensive native indigenous forests on farm.

We are continually developing our fencing infrastructure to better exclude stock from negatively impacting our waterways. This is not an easy task given the topography of the land.

We are New Zealand Farm Assured certified and and have achieved NZFAP Plus Gold Standard in this programme. This programme provides confidence and certainty to  our consumers world-wide that the meat and wool produced from New Zealand farms is authentic, genuine and safe. Collectively this provideS assurances regarding integrity, traceability, animal health and welfare, people, farm and natural resources and biosecurity.

We are motivated to ensure Beresford Farms is a sustainable business for the future.
