Beresford Rise is a secluded, self-contained luxury lodge designed exclusively for couples. It features a deluxe super king bed with premium linen and toiletries, accompanied by a private ensuite. Guests can unwind in the cozy seating area, perfect for reading, relaxing, or simply soaking in the breathtaking panoramic views. The lodge also boasts a fully equipped kitchen with all the essentials. Stretching along its length, the expansive deck offers a stunning outlook and a luxurious hot tub, providing the perfect setting to take in the sweeping scenery.

GETTING HERE
Beresford Rise offers a seamless self-drive, self-check-in experience with keyless, contactless entry. Navigate your way to Puketiro Road and refer to our detailed directions and secure pin code instructions, which will be sent to you two days before your stay.
The private road leading to the lodge is an inclined, uneven gravel road, best navigated with a 4WD or AWD vehicle—though it is not mandatory. Please drive cautiously, especially in wet conditions, and engage 4WD or off-road/all-terrain mode when descending and please leave any gates as you found them. If you ever feel unsafe, don’t hesitate to notify your hosts.
Once settled, unwind in the tranquil surroundings. Enjoy cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, or, if preferred, arrange in advance for a catered stay to enhance your experience.

Can I come off during my stay at Beresford Heights?Yes, we encourage our guests to explore the Catlins. When you arrive your hosts will organise with you multiple transfers during your stay. Ideally being a working farm we like to organise this the night before or minimum two hours notice.

How many people can stay at Beresford Heights?Beresford Heights can sleep up to four people. There is: 1 x super king bed + 1 x very comfortable queen sofa bed.

Can I bring my pet?Beresford Heights & Rise is located on our working sheep and beef farm which means pets are strictly prohibited for their own safety and our stock and wildlife.

Are children allowed?Beresford Heights can sleep four people, we allow two children. Please note Beresford Heights is only accessible via ATV (all terrain vehicle) so you would need to be comfortable with this transport.

What do I need to bring?Warm clothing - the Catlins is very coastal so the weather conditions can change at any time. Walking footwear- to explore the Catlins Togs for the outdoor bath Food and drinks for lunch and dinner if you haven’t added on any of our catered options.

Do we bring our own food and beverages?A continental breakfast is provided as part of your accommodation fee. We do offer, for additional cost, a dinner and wine list, which you can view here. We require 7days notice of food orders. If you have not added on any of our food options at least 7 days prior to arrival, you will need to self-cater. Please note the nearest small supermarket is 20mins away in Owaka township.

What time is check in and check out?Check in is 3pm-6pm – For Beresford Heights please ensure you have notified your hosts of your approximate arrival time and update them if this differs. Check out is 10am.

Is there cell phone service and wifi?Depending on your provider cell phone service is limited however free wireless internet is provided. If you go into your phone settings and turn ‘wifi calling’ on your phone will work as if it has cell phone service.

Do you have a tv?No, we encourage our guests to disconnect from screens and reconnect with each other. Free wifi is available during your stay.

Is there an oven?There is no conventional oven however within the fire/log burner inside in the bottom level there is a ‘bakers oven’ which once heated can be used as an oven- great for pizzas!

Can I drive my own vehicle to Beresford Heights?No, the road to Beresford Heights is extremely steep and uneven terrain and is only accessible by ATV or 4WD farm truck. However we encourage our guests to explore the Catlins so please organise with your hosts transfers during your stay.

How many nights should we stay?To get the full experience we recommend at least two or three nights stay. This allows you plenty of time to relax and explore everything the Catlins has to offer.

Can we see the Aurora's (Southern/Northern lights)?Yes, both Beresford Rise and Beresford Heights have no light pollution so if the Aurora's are there you will see them. However we can not guarantee them as it will be dependant on the weather.

Is Beresford Heights wheel chair accessible?Technically no we are not however we will do our best to work with any disability or special request. Beresford Heights is only accessible via ATV so Beresford Rise with its self drive aspect is a slightly easier alternative. Both accommodations have three steps to get inside and normal sized door ways. Please email us for more information.
